Super Lovers lucky pack!

Earlier this month I bought a Super Lovers lucky pack through CDJapan, and it arrived today (I used sea mail, so I'm actually surprised it didn't take longer!). I'm really happy with the contents! Here's what I got:

 The bag everything came in

 Harem/saruel pants

Matching hoody. Thanks to the horns, I think this is my favourite item.

 T-shirt

Adorable otoshidama envelope that contained this badge.

Here's an outfit I quickly threw together to show how everything looks worn:
I really like the pants, but to be honest, I'm not sure I can pull them/harem pants in general off.

The T-shirt has quite a loose fit (not sure if this is intentional, or if it's just because it's slightly too big for me), which I don't usually like, but I think this one is quite flattering.

You can also sort of see a wig I recently got from Taobao (I don't think I've posted about that yet).

22/01/2013 - More snow shooting!

Wanting to make the most of the snow, on Tuesday I dragged the lovely Richie B out to take more photos. It was just the two of us, so I was completely in charge of styling and make up, which made a nice change. C: Don't get me wrong; I love having this stuff done for me, but sometimes it's fun to shoot in my own stuff.)

I used some new lashes (top and bottom) I recently got from Taobao:
It was my first time even trying them on, so it's not perfect, but I quite like them.

I decided to wear something a little warmer than the last snow shoot:
I went for a slightly wintery, classic lolita-inspired look (not sure how well that came out haha).

We shot in a big, amazing park called Cannon Hill. It's actually quite near where I live, but I'd never been there before.

Here are some of my favourite shots:

This is one of my favourite albums. It always makes me think of snow. C:

19/01/2012 - Snow shoot!

Yesterday I had a photo shoot in the snow! I was ridiculously cold, but had a lot of fun. Around when it first snowed in Birmingham, about a week ago, I was contacted by a designer asking me if I wanted to do a couture Red Riding Hood-themed shoot in the snow. I don't like shooting outdoors (or being outside at all to be honest lol), but I really liked the concept of it, so I accepted. At the time we didn't really know when it was going to snow more, so we just planned the shoot with a very vague idea of when it would actually happen, and yesterday was the day.

Originally we wanted to shoot with the sunrise in the background, so we arrived at the designer's studio to get ready at about 6am (I had to get up at 4am to walk there!), planning to be finished by 9am. We soon realised that because of the snow, there wouldn't be much of a sunrise, so we could take our time.

The whole day was also being filmed by a team of 4 photographers and videographers. They didn't arrive until about an hour after us, and we couldn't finish the make up without them, so for a while the designer, make up artist and I just sat around eating porridge haha.

The make up concept was pale skin and big, doll-like eyes, so I was allowed to wear circle lenses! 8D

The designer being interviewed on camera.

After lots of filming in the studio and a few photos, we all piled into a car to go to the shooting location. It turned out to be where I was living last year! Not the actual building, of course, but the surrounding hilly, forest-ish area that looked great in the snow.

I was wearing about 5 layers of clothes on my legs, because they weren't visible under the dress, but my arms and shoulders were completely uncovered. I actually thought it'd be okay at first, because I didn't feel too cold when we started shooting, but eventually my hands became painfully cold (and then just completely numb).

After we were sure we'd got a few good shots (which didn't actually take too long), we went to a café to warm up with hot drinks and see what was happening with the second model, who was...

...a dog! 8D Because the theme was Red Riding Hood, we wanted to use a dog that looked kind of like a wolf. In the morning we didn't think it was going to happen, so we went ahead and took a loads of shots anyway, but in the end we managed to borrow an akita from a friend of a friend of the photographer. I was so happy!

The dog/wolf was gorgeous, but kept getting distracted and running off lol, so it took a while to get the shots we needed. She was way too strong for me to restrain, and there was no way I could run after her in the dress, so whenever she decided to run off, I just had to let go of her leash, and the owner would have to run after her and bring her back haha.

I'm super excited to see the results of this shoot~

12/01/13 - 13/01/13

On Sunday I had a modelling job in London, so I went down for the whole weekend. C:

I also had "maid training" on Saturday. This was my outfit:
I was wearing the outline cat ear things, but you can't really see them in the photo.

When training was over, I went home and got changed into this for Japan Underground:

Alex and Dayle came over for predrinks, and we drank copious amounts of amaretto with milk (shut up, it was delicious) before heading off.

We arrived shortly before the main band of the night, BRAIN DEATH ZOMBIE, went on stage. They were amazing. If you like DIR EN GREY, I strongly recommend giving them a listen:

On Sunday I was modelling for some kind of photography workshop. There were about 10 photographers of varying skill levels (but most of them pretty new, it seemed), and for some reason they were all Japanese lol (not even exaggerating). I'm not really expecting to get any good photos out of it, but I was paid very well, so it's all good. 8) Also, an English guy came later, and it turns out he was at Japan Underground the night before too! I was so surprised when I heard him telling someone about it~

Also, look what I came across today aha:
I did a hair/stock photo shoot back in June or so, and now this alternative shop (Blue Banana) is using the photos to sell hair dye. It kind of seems like cheating though, because I've never actually dyed my hair haha. It's really strange for me, because I never even expected to see the photos being used, yet here they are in the window of a shop I actually quite like! This photo is the Birmingham one (obviously), but apparently the poster is in the Bristol one too haha.

Sales shopping!

I'm back in Birmingham now, and class has started again. I didn't manage to do New Year's sales shopping in London, but I did in Birmingham after class today. C: I actually prefer shopping here, because it's usually less busy, and most of the good shops are in one building haha.

My Kreepsville 666 dress arrived in the morning!
I didn't have much time to get dressed before class, but I'll probably try to put together a more interesting coordinate with it on the weekend or something.

Gets:
Cat ears from Miss Selfridge. I already have similar ones, but these were half price!

Shoes from Schuh. All my shoes have been breaking lately! (´Д`;) So I'm really happy I found these.

Necklace from claire's, because I figured I should have some jewellery that isn't black or a cross haha.

Tights. I don't know if you can see in the photo, but they're heart-patterned. (^ω^)

Big, fluffy leg-warmers from Forever 21. I'd wanted some of these for a while, and was really surprised to find them there!

Ankle socks from Primark lol. I thought they were cute, and I can never find matching socks these days.

Top and tights (the crosses are gold! 8D ) from Internaçionale:
My mother bought me these when I was visiting her and we went shopping. C:

A few outfit shots

Yesterday was my last day in London. :c My sister and I went shopping in Camden because she wanted something from Cyberdog and I need new shoes. I didn't actually find anything I wanted though. :< Here's what I wore anyway:

I've been wearing my hair in bunches quite often these days because it desperately needs cutting, so it looks pretty bad when it's down, but is easy to tie up. I kinda like it tied up, though. I also tried different lashes and was playing around with eyeshadow gradients, but it didn't show up very well in the photo. :< It gets dark so early these days, and it seems like I can only get make up to show properly when there's natural light.

And here are a couple of recent outfits I haven't posted here:

This was a day where I was too lazy to do anything, but still had to go out. I wore a wig because I was having a bad hair day haha.

02/01/2013

As it was our second-to-last day in London yesterday, my sister and I wanted to make the most of it and went to hang out in central London.

Us together before leaving:
She's almost as tall as me! Can you believe she's only 13?

Full outfit shot:

First, we did purikura:
For some reason they had a Rilakkuma cape thing you could wear in the photos haha.

After that, we did some shopping at the Japan Centre:
I decided to try Ranzuki, which I'd never read before.

We then played a few games at an arcade before going to MADD for snacks:

...And more photo-taking/decorating, because apparently the purikura wasn't enough:

Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a good New Year! Did anyone do anything interesting? I was working from New Year's Eve until New Year's Day because I needed the money lol, but I still managed to have a lot of fun!

MADD (an excellent café in Soho which I highly recommend) hired three waitresses for their New Year countdown event through Maids of England/Team Kiku. The event was medical themed, so we had to dress as nurses. 8D My nurse dress was stained with fake blood though lol, so I made an eye patch and tried the guro thing:

As it was MADD's event, and not a maid one, apart from taking the occasional polaroid/cheki with customers, we were pretty much just waitresses in costumes. It was only my second time doing any kind of waitressing, and there were a lot more customers than the last event I did, so things were pretty hectic, but several customers told me they had fun and that I did a good job, so that made me happy. c:

All of the nurses together. I was by far the least nurse-ish one. And my hat was weird haha.

As alcohol and snacks were included in the entry price, we just had to carry them around and offer them to people (rather than taking orders). I was the one in charge of alcohol, so I also got to squeeze shots directly into the mouths of customers using big syringes lol. That was fun. I managed to get about 90% of the attendees very drunk. 8)

When I was finished working (about 1am), I went to a bar for a while with some of my friends who were at the event and some of MADD's staff, because it is not acceptable to be as sober as I was on New Year's. We later went back to mine to drink more and watch Rugrats videos.
