Men's SPIDER snap

I hadn't actually planned to go to this snap event, but during my final week in Tokyo I noticed the sign outside 109 Men's advertising it while I was in Shibuya. I had some time before going to meet a friend, so I took part. I was really surprised to get a big picture, because I hadn't put much thought into my outfit that day haha. I think it might be because I'd said I was about to leave Japan, so wouldn't be able to come to the next snap event like they asked me to.

Dress: GLAD NEWS
Boots: YOSUKE

I was also in an earlier issue of Men's SPIDER at some point while I was studying in Japan. I'll post it some time if I can find the picture (I lost a lot when my computer broke).

New hair

Hello! It's been a while since I've posted about something other than my year abroad, so I thought I'd post a few pictures of my current hair! My friend recently helped me to dye it grey/silver, and I cut it a little myself, because I don't have time to go to a salon right now. The dye is a Thai one called Lolane Pixxel Color Cream in the colour 'ash', which you can find pretty cheaply on Ebay. As well as working really well, it actually made my hair feel really nice! I was expecting my hair to be a little damaged after dying, but it actually feels and looks healthier than it has done since I first bleached it, so I really recommend this dye.

The colour looks pretty different in all of these photos due to different lighting and filters, but I'd say the first one is truest to real life.

I've had a lot of university assignments and exams recently, so I haven't had much time to update, but the Xmas holiday starts next week!

Rilakkuma Cafe!

In August, just before I left Japan and just as he moved to Japan, I met up with Frazer, a friend from my university here in England. We went to the Rilakkuma cafe, which was a theme that was going on in the Tower Records Cafe in Shibuya for a while. I think the Rilakkuma theme has gone now, so I'm glad I managed to go while it was still there~

The cafe didn't really have any special decoration, but there were lots of Rilakkuma toys around.

Purin latte

Curry rice

Purin (I think?)

There wasn't much choice of food and drink, but it was all very cute!

And of course, we took purikura

KERA street snap

A few weeks before leaving Japan, I was street snapped by KERA! It was printed in the December 2014 issue. I'm really happy to have a full page in one of my favourite magazines~

Cardigan: Mint Neko
Cross necklace: tutuHA
Top, belt: GLAVIL by tutuHA
Skirt, shoes: Bodyline
Garters: Noctex

After taking my photo, they had me fill in an enquette with things like where I bought each item (although they seem to have printed a couple of them wrong lol), what I do, what I like etc. For some reason the only non-outfit-related question they've printed is what my favourite manga is (Attack on Titan) and why ("because it's interesting"), so it makes me look a little obsessed with it haha.

The outfit was originally to go to a live (can't remember which bands were playing), but KERA actually caught me on a Sunday morning after I'd slept in a manga cafe because I'd missed the last train haha. I was just passing through Harajuku on my way home to find some comfortable shoes because my feet were in agony by this point. It had actually just stopped pouring with rain when they found me; the sunglasses were to hide the fact that I was all gross and make up-less.

Kawasaki Warehouse

Sorry, I've been super horrible at keeping this blog updated!

I wanted to share with you guys an interesting place I went to back in June. I'd read about it online before going to Japan, so I was really happy to finally be able to see it in person! It's called Kawasaki Warehouse (or あなたのウエアハウス), and it's pretty much a video game arcade that's been decorated to look like the Kowloon Walled City (if you've never heard of it, check this out; it's pretty interesting).

It's easy to spot.

In the areas without games there were recordings of background city noises and Chinese voices, which made the whole experience feel more realistic.

Everything was incredibly detailed!

Not quite sure what this bit was about, but it was interesting nonetheless. There was actually water around those stepping stones, and the turquoise stuff you see is smoke and coloured lights.

Didn't D'espairsRay film their Reedemer PV here?

Even the (functional) vending machine had a dusty, aged look to it to fit in with everything else.

And the UFO catcher game.

There were even a few purikura machines!

The exit

This place is free to enter, so it's definitely worth checking out if get the chance! It's actually in Kanagawa (between Tokyo and Yokohama), but you can get there really easily and quickly from Tokyo by train (JR lines). Warehouse is less than a ten minute walk from the station, Kawasaki.

Obligatory purikura with Mari

Halloween POP'N'CUTE flyer shoot

Back in June, Junnyan asked me to do a shoot for the promotional flyers for the POP'N'CUTE (a Harajuku fashion party) Halloween event.

I went for a sort of demon/vampire look:

After shooting for a couple of hours we ate ramen and took purikura~

FRUiTS snap

In about April or May, I was street snapped by FRUiTS magazine in Harajuku. I was really surprised! My photo got printed, too! You can find it in issue 204~

Monsters University jacket: eBay
Dress, body harness, cross necklace: GLAVIL by tutuHA
Choker: Creepyyeha
Garters: Made by me
Boots: YOSUKE
Ball-joint doll tights: Lockshop
Eyeball hair bows: Kreepsville 666

Coincidentally, this happened on the day I went to KERA's Marui Annex snap event, where they take everyone's photo, then choose some to print in the magazine. I actually ended up being printed in KERA too, which I totally didn't expect!

Tokyo Decadance: Rolly special

There's a club night I like a lot that happens about once a month in Tokyo, called Tokyo Decadance. I'm not quite sure how to describe it, but it's a lot of fun. Every time there's usually a different dress theme, and as there's a slight discount on the entry fee if you follow the theme (or just generally dress up), people really go all out.

Back in May, Rolly (actor who played the crazy singing guy in the film Suicide Circle) was a guest performer, and as Rolly sometimes plays Frank N. Furter in Rocky Horror Show performances, there was also a small performance of some Rocky Horror songs by the Decadance team. I don't think there was an official dress theme this time, but most people went with Rocky Horror-inspired (and some full-on cosplays).

Although I had Dr. Furter in mind whilst getting ready, it didn't quite show in my outfit haha:
Hair accessory: Paris Kids

Before going, Chi and I took purikura, of course.

She's an absolute pro at decorating these.
