Review: Black Milk Tea Shop

Hello, everyone! I came back to London about a week ago, and am here until I move to Tokyo at the end of March. 

I was recently sent a garter from Black Milk Tea to review. I'd just like to mention that although this is a sponsored review, these are my own, honest opinions on the product.

Service

The owner of the shop and I exchanged a few emails to discuss the sponsorship, and she was very friendly and always replied quickly. 

I asked for it to be sent to my father's house in London, but this was while I was still in France, so I don't know how quickly it arrived. It was already there when I got back, so it definitely arrived from America in less than 2 weeks.

The garter arrived safely in a padded envelope. 

The product

I was given the X-Garter.

Here's how it looks worn:

 The front half of the garter is made of pleather, and the back is elastic so the size is adjustable. There are now three different sizes available, but there was only one when I was sent mine, so it's a little big  for me and I have to wear it slightly higher on my leg than I usually would.

All of the garters in the shop are hand made, and it does show a little when you look closely, but it's barely noticeable when you wear it, so it's not really a problem. Everything is affordable, and there are lots of items catering to wearers of gothic styles, and also those who prefer a cuter, pastel look.

Hello! My classes are over now, so I have about two weeks left to enjoy Paris~ 

On my first day of freedom, I decided to dress as a boy, because I haven't done it in about half a year for some reason, and I missed it.

I went shopping, and the sales were a little disappointing, but I found a few things I like:

 I couldn't find either of these tops in my size haha, so they're both pretty baggy. Both from Bershka.

I'd seen these shoes a long time ago but never paid much attention because I was sure I wouldn't be able to walk in them, but I saw they were reduced to £20 and decided to try them on. They turned out to be unbelievably easy to walk in, and actually quite comfortable! I don't really know how they work haha, must be witchcraft.

The Ragged Priest skirt. It's not very interesting (the wings aren't part of the skirt), but I've wanted a witchy maxi skirt for ages now, and I'm really happy to finally have one. c:

Christmas ☆

Hello, I hope you all had a good Christmas! 

I've been back in London for a few days now. Christmas was fairly uneventful, but I really enjoyed watching British TV again, and I had my first roast dinner in about 6 months, so that was nice. 

Lazy Xmas outfit featuring a super comfortable, fluffy jacket that I received as a gift.

The outfit also included these ears (a Christmas present from my sister), which didn't show up in any of the full body photos I took. I also attempted some Christmas-esque nail art, but that turned out horribly ahaha.

Skeleton onesie because I am spooky all year round

Some circle lenses I ordered from PinkyParadise during their Black Friday sale (so they were half price!) arrived recently, too! 

The ones I wore on Christmas Day are Geo Bella (blue)

At 15mm they're the biggest lenses I've ever had, but they're very comfortable! 

My real eyes are a sort of green/blue colour, but they blend quite well:

The other pair are G&G BIG DM23 (Grey)

I chose these ones because I wanted some lenses that were pretty much just a black border to enlarge (and slightly darken) my eyes, and these do just that. They're 14.5mm, which is probably my favourite size for circle lenses. These ones are very comfortable, too. I actually forgot to take them out before going to bed, and my eyes barely hurt when I woke up, and felt fine after I took them out (I've heard some horror stories of people falling asleep in lenses, so this was a relief haha).

And here you can see how well they blend with my eyes:

I would definitely recommend both of these lenses!

Juizywoozy

For a while now I've been meaning to post about Juizywoozy, a "kawaii fashion" brand based in Indonesia. The items are really good quality and very reasonably priced.

Juizywoozy were kind enough to let me choose some items to review~ They arrived very quickly (about 5 days after being shipped!) and well packaged. The staff were also very friendly and helpful throughout the order process.

 Inside the main packaging, the two items were individually wrapped.

Usagi bag

This bag is super cute and very well made. There are plenty of inside pockets and it's very spacious. I think it'd work really well with a sweet lolita outfit.

Cow and Stars hoody

A little different to my usual style, but I love it anyway, and it's really good quality. The material is quite thin, as it's clearly supposed to be worn as a top rather than a sweater, so you can wear it in the summer, or layer it in the winter!

01/10/2013 - VAMPS live in Paris

On Tuesday, VAMPS played in Paris. It was such a fun day!

If any of you happen to not know VAMPS, I highly recommend them! The vocalist is Hyde of L'Arc-en-Ciel. I've never been particularly interested in L'Arc, but I do like Hyde's voice, and VAMPS is much more to my taste. 

This is the song that made me a fan of VAMPS.

The venue was L'Olympia, which was actually a little smaller than I'd expected. It was a good size.

I'd originally planned to get to the venue at about 12, because I wanted to make sure I had a good view of the stage, but that didn't quite work out as planned, and I ended up arriving at about 2pm. Fortunately, it was a Tuesday so there weren't too many people there. 

That day I went for a vampire-esque make up look, of course. 

I spent the next 5 hours or so going to Starbucks a lot, and talking with other fans a bit. It was a little cold (and I didn't bring a coat haha), but time passed a lot faster than I'd expected it to. 

At about 7.30, they let us in. I got a decent spot a few rows from the front, and slightly right of the centre because I wanted to see K.A.Z (guitarist) too.

Hyde! Even without Photoshop he looks much younger than he is (somewhere in his 40's)! He was also surprisingly tiny. 

As for the live itself, it was great! The first thing that struck me was Hyde's amazing contact lenses, which I failed to capture with my iPhone haha. At first it looked like he wasn't wearing contacts at all, but occasionally (I guess when UV lights shined on them) they'd glow white, like a demon. It was really cool. 

K.A.Z

Their music works extremely well live, so much so that I suspect at least a few of the songs were composed with lives in mind. There are lots of sort of... chanting(?) and shouting parts where the crowd can join in, which was fun. The best live songs were, in my opinion, HUNTING, REVOLUTION, and SEX BLOOD ROCK N' ROLL.

Hyde played the guitar too sometimes

Hyde and K.A.Z are the only official members of VAMPS, but I also want to mention the support members, because they were great. They were all really lively and enthusiastic (usually more so than the official members), and generally very fun. I actually kind of wish I'd stood more towards the left of the stage, because the bassist was great, and I would have liked to see him a little better.

Hyde was the only one to speak to the crowd, but he did it quite a few times, and was pretty entertaining. He made a pretty good stab at French (most of it was understandable, and the pronunciation was surprisingly good), and also spoke some English and Japanese. 

After the live some of us waited outside to see the band off. We were waiting at the artists' entrance, but strangely, they actually left through the main entrance, so we missed them. :< But I still had fun chatting with other fans, and we didn't have to wait for too long~ 

 I bought a T-shirt. It's a little bigger than I prefer, but I really liked the design.

26/07/2013 - Hyper Japan (Friday)

Sorry I'm so late with this entry! About a week ago was Hyper Japan (a big Japanese culture event that's held about twice a year in London). Even though I didn't know any of the guests this time (it was guests like Ninjaman Japan and THE MICRO HEAD 4N's that made me decide to go to the last Hyper Japan), I still had loads of fun! I took a lot of photos, so I'll divide this into two or three posts.

I didn't take a photo of Friday's outfit, because I'd worn this outfit before, so here's a photo of me with Bree and Wing~ 

There was loads of good food for sale! This is a matcha latte and a taiyaki. 

My main reason for going on Friday was to see VANIRU's performance. I hadn't heard of them before Hyper Japan announced them as guests, but I listened to some of their stuff and really liked it. VANIRU are a sort of visual kei duo (vocalist and guitarist) who play 80's goth-style music. I love it. 

To be honest, the Hyper Japan stage really wasn't suited to live music, and was far too big for just two (very small) guys, so it was a little awkward. Although Leoneil (vocalist)'s voice is great, the acoustics were terrible, and Yuto's guitar wasn't even plugged in. But still, it was fun to watch, and afterwards they did a short interview on stage. 

As it was a Friday, my friends were either not there or were working on stalls. I ran into and chatted with a few people I know, but mostly just wandered around shopping and eating things haha. While I was shopping, a girl complimented my outfit. Her dress was cute, so I asked where it was from, and she said "Dolce & Gabbana", and I just remember thinking like "What's someone who wears D&G doing at an event like this..?" haha. I later found out that the girl was Pixie Lott (a fairly well-known British pop singer), when someone on Facebook linked to this tweet/photo of hers. I actually quite like one of her songs (I only know one, because I am clueless about popular music haha) and already had it on my iPod, so that was pretty cool~ 

The only non-food thing I bought was this necklace from Candy Geisha~

 In the evening there was a sort of after party where some of the performers from Hyper Japan would be performing, and you could get free tickets from Hyper Japan, so I got one for me and DeMc (who didn't go to HJ that day), then headed off to meet him at about 7. 

The venue was a tiny club/music venue that was below a bar, but I really liked it. It had a nice atmosphere, and the music being played was great (remixes of stuff like Capsule and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu). We arrived really early, though, so we went back out for a little while to find some cheaper alcohol.

We didn't know what to get (we just wanted a small bottle of something strong), so DeMc suggested Jägermeister, which I hadn't really drunk before. I agreed purely because Eren Jägermeister. 

After making too many Attack on Titan jokes and drinking the Eren Jägermeister on the street (like the classy bitches we are haha), we headed back inside.

Yanakiku (who describe themselves as a "kimono-cosplay duo") performed first. Their music wasn't quite my thing, but their dancing was adorable, and I really enjoyed it. 

Next was VANIRU. Their performance was so much better than the one at Hyper Japan, as it was an actual music venue and all. Yuto's guitar was actually plugged in this time, and they seemed to enjoy themselves a lot more. 

Leoneil disappeared pretty quickly, but here's Yuto, who was lovely.
