06/04/2013

On Saturday I attended a small gyaru meet. And I know, I'm not gyaru, but I am interested in the fashion, and some friends I hadn't seen in a while were going, so I wanted to see them. C:

I attempted a rock gyaru-esque outfit:
I finally wore the DreamV top with horns and wings that I got ages ago.

We took purikura first, then ate Chinese food. ( ̄∀ ̄)

Group picture after eating

Next we went to a cafe for bubble tea/desserts, and hung out there for a while.
Mine was brown sugar flavoured ahaha, so delicious.

Some more people had showed up and wanted to do purikura, so we headed back to the purikura shop. Only a few people actually used the booth, though, and the rest of us just hung around outside taking silly photos on our phones~

After the meet, I went to a nearby pub for the leaving party of a friend who's moving back to Japan soon. Most of the people there were Japanese, so I was able to practice the language a lot. The main conversation topic I remember is "bugs are scary" lol. We drank lots of chilli vodka.

When the pub closed, most of us went to a party at a hair salon in Shoreditch where my friend worked while he was living here. It was the birthday of one of his coworkers or something, so they hired a DJ and basically turned the salon into a night club. It was pretty cool.

As the owner of the salon is Italian, most of the staff were Italian too, so I also got to speak a lot of Italian that night, which made me happy, although at first it was super difficult to switch between Japanese and Italian, because a lot of the words actually sound quite similar. I think I might have asked one guy "Sei italiano desu ka?", whoops~ ( ´艸`) It was a really fun night.

I'm really addicted to this song lately:

Happy Easter!

I've been back in London for about a week now for the Easter holiday (and I still have a few more weeks left!).

This is the Easter egg my dad gave me!(≧ω≦)

On Monday I met up with Memz and DeMc to go clubbing together as Club Club for the last time before Memz moves to Japan. Memz wanted us to dress as boys, so this was my outfit:

Predrinking at Memz' house (with DeMc the real boy behind us)

Burger phone!

The night was a lot of fun! We went to a local alternative club for some cheap drinks before heading to central London to go to Heaven (a good gay club that I'd never been to before). We called it a day at about 3am, and Memz and I went to a Chinese restaurant before heading back to mine and watching anime until about 6am haha.

---------------
The next day I got a much-needed hair cut. It's barely shorter than it was before, but I had layers put in and a lot of volume removed, so it's much more manageable now. The photo doesn't really show this, but it's also kind of lighter and fluffier than it was before, which I like:
I also really like how it looks with black lipstick.

I accidentally dressed kind of like a teenager in the 90's that day haha

Song of the day is a super old (2001) VK video:
The quality is horrible, but I like it. I'm a sucker for early-2000's visual kei, and I find the terrible-quality recording quality of the indies groups kind of endearing haha. I think one of the guys from Alice Nine was in this band, too.

28/12/2012 - Medical AntiChrist

On Friday, Dodo, Memz, DeMc, Alex and I went to Club AntiChrist. I'd never been there before, but it was a lot of fun! AntiChrist is a goth/fetish club that runs every two months, I believe. Like Torture Garden, they have a very broad dress code, and while extravagant costumes and such (like you would expect to see at Tokyo Decadance) are encouraged, you pretty much just have to look alternative in some way or another to get in.

On this particular occasion, Surgyn (see the video below) were playing, so the theme of the event was 'medical'. It wasn't obligatory, but I love dress themes, so I followed it.

I went for some kind of nurse-demon-zombie hybrid:

...And then threw in some big, red eyes and Kyary-inspired make up for good measure:

Despite the venue being nowhere near my (father's) house, everyone came to mine for pre-drinks anyway.

DeMc and Alex were both mad scientists/doctors without planning it together, aww (NOWKISS):
They had matching goggles, too, but idk where they are in this photo.

DeMc had a cool pirate goblet for some reason, which I had a lot of fun with:

Blurry group photo (taken right before I got hopelessly lost inside my own coat sleeve):

Both the venue and the event were really good. There were lots of different rooms, and they all had very different atmospheres, which made things more interesting. You could also buy curry, which was nice.

 Glowy legs~

And a crucifix, because why not.

The event itself was great too; it finished at 6am (although we only stayed until about 4am), and had various performances going on (musical and otherwise) until about 2am. I didn't know any of the bands but Surgyn, but they were all really good, and they talked to the crowd a lot, which is always nice. I don't remember the (non-live) music very well, but I think it was pretty much what you'd get at any goth club, with slightly different things in the different rooms, of course. Also, the people there were much friendlier than any London club I've been to before (Thailand has been by far the friendliest yet), and I actually ran into several people I know from different places. C:

All in all, a good night, and I strongly recommend the club.

19/12/2012 - Clubbing and a tag

On Wednesday I was invited to go clubbing with Memz, Rachel, Alex and DeMc. :D

Didn't manage to get a good photo, but here's what I wore:

We went to Candy Bar (which is actually a lesbian bar, but somehow we managed to get the guys in) first to sit down and have some cocktails/Jager bombs.
Memz and I had only planned to wear our outline-cat ear things (which are barely visible here) together, but we both ended up wearing leopard print (and giant, spiky shoes) too haha. 8D

After a couple of drinks, we headed to our next destination. We'd originally planned to go to Heaven, but that was closed, so we went to G-A-Y Late instead.

The work of a very drunk Memz:

Group photo:

We stayed until it closed, then got kebabs. Fun night. 8)

I was also tagged to do this challenge by the lovely Black Rose! Thank you! C:

Challenge's Rules:

1. Thank the people who gave you the challenge
2. Share this challenge to 8 blogger who you want to challenge
3. Let them know that you have challenged them
4. Tell 8 random facts about yourself.

I don't know who to tag, so I'll just get on with it~

1. ごめん寝 (copy & paste that into Google images; you won't regret it) makes me ridiculously happy.
2. I'm currently trying to teach myself to make clothes, because I've recently realised that I really enjoy sewing.
3. I dislike most British TV, with the exception being British comedy, which I love.
4. I think I have quite a strong London accent, but people here always ask where I'm from, and it often takes quite a lot of convincing before they believe I'm from England at all. wat.
5. I have two younger sisters. One is already taller than me, and the other (who is only 13 years old) is almost my height already! :C
6. I really love autumn (fall) and winter.
7. I really want a big dog, like an Alsatian.
8. I'm terrible at walking in flat shoes. I think it's because I'm so used to wearing platforms/heels that when I do wear sensible shoes, I get overly confident and just trip over nothing.

23/10/2012

This weekend I had to go back to London to be interviewed for a job with Maids of England (which I got!). It sounds like it'll only be once or twice a month, but I'm super excited to start working with them! I'm always prancing around in a maid costume anyway, so I figured I might as well get paid for it haha. I can't wait to try on my new uniform!

This was my interview outfit lol
----------

On Friday I went to Japan Underground.
Outfit shot:

There were a lot less people that I knew there than I'd expected, but that actually turned out for the best, and I had loads of fun!

I missed the first bands because my train was ridiculously delayed (I am so done with London Midland), but I got to see the whole of 33Insanity'sVertebra, who were very good.

Also, I finally met Ellie in person, and we were wearing the same tights!

When JPU finished, Tom, Dayle and I went drinking with 33IV (and possibly other bands, but at this point I was probably too drunk to count lol). After ambling around for a while trying to figure out what bus to take, we piled into taxis and went to Camden to go to the Electric Ballroom.
Yoshihisa (33IV's guitarist), Dayle and I eventually gave up on standing and just sat around drinking Snakebites for the rest of the night whilst I poorly interpreted between Japanese and English for them (and probably made very little sense). Apparently I spoke French and Italian to some randoms too, but I don't remember that at all. I don't even know how, but I always manage to find ALL the foreigners haha.

When the Electric Ballroom closed, we got fast food then went our separate ways. Without even thinking, I walked all the way home (about 45 minutes). I usually walk it during the day, but this time I was ridiculously drunk and wearing litas haha, so that was probably a bad idea. No idea how I didn't fall over. Luckily I survived, but my feet hurt so much the next day!
----------

I also baked a cake for my dad's birthday! It was on Monday, and I obviously had to go back to university. I feel bad that I couldn't spend it with him, but I wanted him to know I care and all </lame>...
The previously-light cake weighed a tonne after I decorated it haha. At first I was like "Is this too many berries?" but then I was like "Nah, he loves berries.". I was just gonna write something on it in icing, but this should taste better (and I have terrible handwriting, so it probably looks a lot better this way, too).

Vampire Machine

On Friday I was going to go to Digitalis, but we stayed in the pub too long and missed the last train haha. Here's what I wore:

--------------

Yesterday I went to Vampire Machine with Bethan. The club (which I'd never been to before) is usually just called Machine, but this time they encouraged people to dress as vampires, which pretty much sold it to me, because I can't say no to any event that involves costumes.

My outfit:
This is how I want to dress every day when I'm old.

Accessories:

Make up:
I finally wore my new circle lenses! They're Dolly Plus red by Vassen. I love how well the colour shows up on my eyes! I might do a review on them soon.

It turns out Bethan lives like 2 minutes away from me, so I predrank my body weight in absinthe at hers whilst dancing around her kitchen to Kyary and PSY (much to the amusement of her housemates), then we got the bus to central Birmingham.

Entry to the club was free, and they had some pretty good drinks deals, so I managed to not spend much (but still get absolutely wasted), which was nice. The event itself was a lot of fun! I saw lots of people I know, and they played Internet Friends and Gangnam Style (amongst the normal industrial/EBM stuff).

With Bethan, waiting to buy cheap Jagermeister.

I lost track of all time after that, but at some point we got a taxi back to the area we live in, and got food before going home. Now sober, I realise how disgusting my choice of fish and chips with cheese sounds, but it was a good idea at the time lol.

Laser tag, Tron, cooking, haircut

On Friday, Goth Soc. did laser tag! 8D We rented out the whole place so we could play our own music and stuff. Laser tag is so much better when you have this sort of thing playing:

My team lost by far (probably my fault, as I actually got minus points haha), but it was still a lot of fun! 8D

My outfit was a bit boring because I needed something I could run around in easily:
Super awkward photo haha

Afterwards, about half of us decided to go to Eddie's, because Tron (club night playing EBM and such) was on. When we got to the station, the next train wasn't for something like 40 minutes, so some of us went off to find a shop to buy alcohol and start drinking, which made waiting outside for the train a lot more bearable, and by the time we got to Eddie's, I was already quite drunk without having spent much at all. I don't remember an awful lot from that point on, but I do remember being super excited when they played this haha:
--------------

Today I just did some grocery shopping, but here's my outfit:
Inspired by Nana.

I also tried cooking something new, and it turned out really well! It was based off this recipe.

Also, last night I cut my own hair because it was a mess and annoying me. It's not amazing, but I like it better than before, and I've actually paid for worse, so yeah.
It's actually quite a bit shorter, but I straightened it a lot in this picture to make sure things were even. You can probably see the real length better in the outfit shot.

LGBTQ bar crawl

Thursday was the LGBTQ society bar crawl, which was a lot of fun! Here's what I wore:
I should really start taking outfit shots before I start drinking, but I'm sure you get the idea of how it looked.
And this one is just to show you how the tank top I talked about in the last post looks worn, because I really like it haha.
Make up. It didn't show up in the photo very well, but I tried contouring a bit.
Better view of ear cuff and hair.

There was about 40 people on the crawl, and they were really nice! I even met a few people who like K-pop (and not just PSY haha). I think we went to 4 bars in the gay district, and one big club at the end (quite a few of them gave us free jelly shots, too 8D ). Although I had fun, the music really wasn't my thing (pretty much the same as every club ever), so I probably won't go to any of the places very often, except for maaaaybe the last club if I have  fun people with me.

Cocktail slush 8D

I actually lost my wristband right before the last club, but the guy on the door was really nice and let me in anyway. C: And then later the fire alarm went off, and everyone had to go and loiter around outside/eat burgers for a while.
-----------

Ending on a completely different note, have you guys heard the preview of Mucc's new song? I can't wait to hear the full thing! :D
Apparently it's gonna be an ending song for Naruto though lol
